Fans’ Bands

Two teams. One match. A lasting memory.

With match day come the colours of two teams, and only then, the competition. The colours wrap around unique talents and strengths, turning individuals into the team. Improvement striven for through observation, reflection, knowledge and hard work.

The clock beckons colours and monochrome alike; in the moment, all equal, all one. The passing minutes witness sinew strained, resolve tested, individuals committed as one—the team striving to prevail. The scoreboard waits to bear witness.

The final whistle blows. The scoreboard speaks. Sweetness for some; for others, disappointment. Spirits flattened. But time keeps another score. Shared memories leave the ground in and amongst the walking crowd. Some home, others away; all united by the afternoon.

What is a Match Band?

A handmade adjustable cord band carrying the colours of the home and visiting teams. The colours meet at its centre: a small, wearable record of one particular match.

Made to be carried home

Created for the people who make matchday possible—players, officials, mascots, volunteers and supporters. Given in friendship. Kept as a memory of the day.
